Winter in Kansas

Being in the "middle of it all," winter season in Kansas will feel different depending on where you are visiting from. Are you coming from the north or one of the mountainous states? Well, then Kansas might be a pleasant place to enjoy a milder winter. Activities like hiking and hunting are usually very doable in the winter season if you're bundled up correctly.

Those from places without much snow or any true winter season will notice that our winter can pack a punch, especially with the wind chill factor. If you prefer to remain indoors, we have many places to shop, museums to explore, and great places to eat!

Either way, no matter where you are from, it is best to come prepared, as it is possible for temperatures to drop below freezing or for a blizzard to sweep through from time-to-time. Kansas is still an amazing place to explore when the weather turns frosty!
