Perry is a city in Jefferson County along US-24. The town is midway between Topeka and Lawrence and just north of Lecompton across the Kansas River. The biggest attractions are Perry State Park on the west side of Perry lake and the Perry Lake Corps of Engineers on the southeast side. The Lake's Corp of Engineers site offers 1,000 campsites, boating, hunting, hiking, fishing, and a variety of trail systems, including a disc golf course, along with many other outdoor opportunities.
The surrounding landscape by Perry and Perry Lake gives visitors an "Ozark-like" feel to Kansas. The thick trees, steep hills, and nearby bodies of water provide an entirely different look to Kansas.
While you're in town, be sure to check out the Perry City Hall Mural and the Perry Post Office Mural!
