Things to Do in Erie, Kansas

Come experience our rich history and relaxing lifestyle which makes Erie, Kansas special. On the 2nd full week of July, Erie is home to the Old Soldiers and Sailors Reunion, the longest continuous military reunion in the United States. This event is complete with a rodeo, parade, free concert, bean feed, beer garden, inflatables, craft show, a BBQ cookoff, car show, and other family events!

Children of all ages enjoy touring the Erie Dinosaur Park which has several dinosaurs made from automobile parts lovingly put together by a grandfather for his grandchildren and later donated to the city.  Prairie Ridge Golf Course is a beautiful 9-hole course with a restaurant on-site. Community organizations are strong including the Mem-Erie Historical Society and Museum, MainStreet Memories, and the Erie Area Chamber of Commerce.

Erie is home of the Neosho County Courthouse, Neosho Valley Event Center, and the Neosho County Fair, held at the end of July each year. Our school district is USD 101 which covers 450 square miles and transports 400 students. Recently, Erie Community Childcare Center received a grant to build a second building so it can accommodate at least 75 babies and preschoolers, and offer a program for elementary students as a day program.
