Located just east of the stunning Wetlands and Wildlife National Scenic Byway is the city of Claflin. Initially settled in 1870 and eventually transformed into a rail community in the 1880s and the early 1900s, the community now rests in the great beautiful plains of Barton County. Just south of the town is the Cheyenne Bottoms Wildlife Area, which provides visitors with stunning views of wildlife.
