Located on Highway 36 roughly 10 miles east of the Smith County line, it would make a good stop for a tank of gas or auto repair if needed. Athol’s community hall display’s the world’s only home-made fire truck built on a Pierce-Arrow chassis. Nine miles north on US Hwy. 8 and Hwy. 36 is Brewster Higley’s cabin. Stop by and enjoy the beautiful scenery where the most famous cowboy song in the world, "Home on the Range” was written.
