Fulton Valley Farms - Towanda
The merriest of holiday seasons for me are the traditions that live on and seem to get better and sweeter with each passing year. For many in South Central Kansas, Fulton Valley Farms continues to be their Christmas-time destination for spreading holiday cheer with their most cherished loved ones.
Fulton Valley Farms is in rural Towanda, which is about 25 miles east of Wichita. This family-generational farm is celebrating 153 years with eight generations continuing the family farming legacy. The current owners, David & Betty Corbin began the reindeer operation in 2014 when they purchased their first 100% Registered North American Reindeer. During the holiday season, you can meet the majestic beauties, Itsy-Bitsy and Sparkle, alongside Santa and Mrs. Claus at the farm. When the reindeer aren’t sleigh training at the North Pole, they are available for special event bookings throughout the United States.
The farm’s biggest attraction, “A Country Christmas” kicks off Thanksgiving weekend each year and runs to Christmas. Activities include sleigh rides with Clydesdales, children’s hay maze, live nativity, Santa Station, Jingle Bell Emporium, over a million lights in the “Path of Lights,” hidden elves (if you find them on the farm, snap a picture to receive a free hot chocolate, concessions, retail store, and of course, reindeer! You can also enjoy banquet-style dinners in the historic barn on Friday nights. Throughout the season, they have special events such as appearances by the Grinch, Supper with Santa, Ugly Sweater Night, and other festive-themed experiences.
