Things to do in Wilson, Kansas

The community of Wilson promotes itself as the “Czech Capital of Kansas” due to the role of Czech immigrant settlers in the early history of the town. The town holds the After Harvest Czech Festival, which takes place during the last weekend in July every year. The Kansas Pacific Railway built Wilson Station back in 1871. By 1874, Czech immigrants from Bohemia came to Wilson to work on the railroad, establishing the area as a center of Czech culture. The town is also right next to Wilson State Park, which is one of the best outdoor activities in Kansas, especially mountain biking. Those seeking serious fun on two wheels should definitely check out the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail

Wilson is also home to the world’s largest Czech egg!
