Wellsville is located in the northeast corner of Franklin County, just 20 miles south by I-35 of the Kansas City area. It has claim to celebrity singer Chely Wright and the artist Grandma Layton. Wellsville was once known as the “English Blue Grass Capital” of the world for its production of grass seed. Wellsville has a historical museum, several of the early homes, as well as the first building built in the town and two great restaurants on Main Street.
