Things to do in St. Francis, Kansas

St. Francis is the county seat of Cheyenne County and has a population of around 1,000 residents. Visitors to St. Francis are often amazed by the surrounding landscape. The extremely beautiful Arikaree Breaks are just north of the city and provide iconic, photo-friendly moments. The Land and Sky Scenic Byway runs across the town and onto the Kansas-Nebraska border, which is nearby the Arikaree Breaks.

One of St. Francis’ must-see attractions is the fantastic St. Francis Motorcycle Museum. The museum houses more than 140 antique motorcycles collected from around the country, including an ultra-rare Orient motorcycle, the first manufacturer to use the term ‘motorcycle.’ Fresh Seven Coffee is well known for its handcrafted coffee and cocktails, farm-to-table menu, and eclectic vibe… Including serving from a renovated camper inside the building. The St. Francis community is one you’ll have to see to believe, so come on down and say hello!”

St. Francis is the hometown of Ronald Evans, an electrical engineer, aeronautical engineer, officer and aviator in the United States Navy, and NASA astronaut. Evans served as Command Module Pilot on Apollo 17; he was one of the 24 astronauts to have flown to the moon. To learn more about Ron Evans, visit the Cheyenne County Historical Museum.
